日本の着物には、見えない部分に贅をつくす美学がある。羽織の裏地の文様にこだわるのもその一つ。染色技術が大きく飛躍した大正時代には美しさと奇抜さを競うように羽織裏地用の生地が作られ、デザイン的価値にすぐれたものが多い。「岡重」は工房に伝わる当時の羽織裏のデザインを復刻し、インテリア雑貨や小物に生き返らせている。

A gorgeous weave for interiors.
The unseen aspect of a Japanese kimono conceals the most luxurious aesthetic. This is one of the reasons we insist on Haori lining. During the Taisho period (1912-1926), dyeing techniques advanced in leaps and bounds, and many beautiful Haori-jacket lining fabrics were produced. The design values of many of these fabrics are excellent. At Okajima, we have inherited the Haori lining designs of that period, and given them new life in interior designs and accessories.
