日本画の中でも大胆な構図で人気の高い、俵屋宗達作の「風神雷神」。この絵を西陣の金襴メーカーが化繊の生地に織り込み、和装バッグメーカーの「ミズノ」がカジュアルなバッグに仕立てた。金地に迫力いっぱいに躍動する風神・雷神像は、ファッションの強いアクセントに。ハンドバッグとしてもショルダーバッグとしても使えるデザイン。
Casual bags with the “Wind God and Thunder God” depicted on a dazzling gold nishijin brocade.
Among Japanese style drawings, Tawaraya Sotatsu’s “Wind God and Thunder God” is especially popular for its bold composition. This drawing has been worked into synthetic fiber cloth by a Nishijin brocade manufacturer and made into casual bags by Japanese style bag manufacturer Mizuno. The lively figures of the gods of wind and thunder appear to move on the gold cloth, thus serving to accent the user’s attire. These items can be used either as handbags as shoulder bags.
