京鹿の子絞は布地にごく小さな粒をびっしりと作り、その部分が防染され密度の高い点描を描くのが特徴。「アンドウ」では高級な和装品の代名詞であった京鹿の子絞をインテリア商品として展開。45cm角のクッションに絞られた粒は約一万粒。重厚な絞りの起伏とブルー、グリーンなど鮮やかな色展開が海外の展示会で注目を集めた。
A very fine Kyokanoko Shibori produced with over 10,000 grains. Ideal for interiors.
Kyokanoko Shibori is produced with extremely fine grains twisted into the cloth. When these areas are prevented from being dyed, it creates extremely characteristic and fine designs. The Ando Studio has developed a range of products for interiors using Kyokanoko Shibori – a name which is synonymous with high quality Japanese goods. There are approximately 10,000 grains in each 45cm-square cushion. The stately waves and the vibrant blue and green colours created by the tie-dyeing have been the focus of attention at exhibitions overseas.

each grain having been manipulated by the craftsman’s fingers.
