浮世絵で名高い日本の木版画。「竹笹堂」では通常分業される版木の彫りと摺りを一貫して手がけ、オリジナリティの高い紙製品を製作・販売している。当代・竹中健司の現代版画作品「桜嵐山」は嵐山の景色をデフォルメした図柄。大胆な色彩による表現が、現代のインテリアにマッチする。工房では体験ワークショップも随時開催。

The incorporation of manual woodblock printing into life as modern art Tradition meets modernity.

Japanese woodblock printing is often associated with the famous Ukiyoe form. Takezasado specializes in both woodblock carving and printing (normally conducted by separate operators), and produces and sells high-quality, original paper products. Sakura-arashiyama, the modern woodblock printing work of Kenji Takenaka (the present owner), is suggestive of the Arashiyama landscape. Its expression using bold colours complements modern interiors well. Hands-on workshops are also held at the studio.
