ー 京都市伝統工芸連絡懇話会について ー
京都には長い歴史と伝統を誇る数多くの伝統産業があります。その中でも、産地規模要件を満たさないために「伝統的工芸品産業の振興に関する法律」の指定を受けることができない小規模の業種について、京都市が昭和53年度から昭和54年度にかけて調査を行いました。その結果、極めて高度な技術を基盤として、貴重な伝統工芸品の製作が、ごく少数の後継職人によってのみ、今も受け継がれている分野があることが明らかになりました。
京都市では、こうした組合組織のない小規模の業種に呼びかけ、昭和57年2月に「京都市伝統工芸連絡懇話会」を組織しました。以来、同会では、その振興発展を図るため、展示会の開催や製作実演などの活動を展開しています。
About “Council of Traditional Crafts, City of Kyoto”
Kyoto has a large number of traditional industries which are proud of their long history and tradition. In 1978 and 1979, the City of Kyoto has conducted the investigation on small industries which fail the requirement in number and size of companies set by the Law for Promotion of Traditional Craft Industries. As a result, it found that a small number of artisans have produced and have handed down precious handicrafts with advanced techniques until present.
The City of Kyoto invited such artisans who had been unable to be members of the existing unions because of their small business size, to join organizing the Council of Traditional Crafts, which was established in February 1982. Since then, the Council has been active in holding events such as exhibitions and demonstrations in order to promote the industries.
